Arctic Toenail Colors and Other Differences

    The above photo is NOT an arctic wolf. It is a white phase wolf. In the photos below ARE Arctic wolves.

    Below are Arctic puppies. They are born dark and by approx. 5 years old they may be pure white, or they may even still have a slight darker saddle with banded hairs.

    This is what an Arctics toenails look like. They are taupe coloration, almost transparent looking. They are never black, never white, never pink, not brown.

    Why is this here? Because captive raised arctic wolves and arctic wolfdogs are the most misrepresented by bad breeders there is. Arctics (Canis Lupus Arctos) are not born white, nor are they born with pink toes, black toenails, or snow nose. A very telling trait that arctics have are their toenails. Here are some examples by a very willing participant. This toenail color is a fact. This animal is not misrepresented.
